Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The infection of the Covid-19 virus is at its highest in Indonesia. This can be seen from the daily reports confirming the addition of cases of Covid-19 patients and the full number of hospitals. To confirm someone is infected with the Covid-19 virus, a PCR swab test is carried out.For tests, they usually spend starting from Rp. 900 thousand per test. However, the public can actually get a free PCR swab at the sub-district health center at the sub-district level.Although it is free, not all Indonesian citizens can enjoy this free PCR swab test. There are several conditions that must be met in order for this service to be obtained.Head of the Health Handling Division of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force Alexander K. Ginting said the free swab service for residents was opened through a contact tracing mechanism.Contact tracing is carried out to trace the possible contact of a resident who has tested positive for Covid-19 with other residents. This method is done to break the potential chain of spread further.Residents who feel they have contact with positive cases can go directly to the Puskesmas to do a free swab.In addition to contact with positive Covid-19 patients, those who can carry out PCR swabs include those who feel they are experiencing Covid-19 symptoms such as headaches, fever, runny nose, cough, diarrhea and so on.In addition, there are also a number of conditions for residents who want to undergo a free swab at the Puskesmas.Among them, before filling out the form, a number of conditions must be met, namely, a domicile letter and an identity card or KTP."You just have to fill in the form, continue with your domicile and ID card, it's not difficult, you just have to stand in line," said Alexander Ginting as quoted on Monday (5/7/2021).However, Ginting did not explain further for residents who want to test but without contact tracing.
