As Omicron and other COVID-19 variants continue to hang on, causing wave after wave of illness, many people are making sure to restock their face mask supply. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has updated its face mask guidelines, saying cloth masks provide the least amount of protection from the coronavirus.
“Loosely woven cloth products provide the least protection, layered finely woven products offer more protection, well-fitting disposable surgical masks and KN95s offer even more protection, and well-fitting NIOSH-approved respirators (including N95s) offer the highest level of protection,” the CDC said.
