Nearly 84% of our funding comes from the Atlanta community. Thank you!

On the Wednesday edition of “Closer Look,” new research examines the impacts of net worth poverty on a child’s behavioral and cognitive health.

Christina Gibson-Davis, a professor of public policy and sociology at Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy, talks about her research and why she believes addressing net worth poverty isn’t receiving enough attention.

Plus, a new study from Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta found that kids who watch a 90-second instructional video can self-swab for a COVID-19 test nearly as accurately as a health care professional.

This edition also features an excerpt of a 2017 conversation with the family of Shy’Kemmia Pate, who disappeared in 1998 and remains missing without any investigative leads.
